    Code of Conduct

     

    Every student enrolling in any wushu sport program at Cosmo Wushu Academy (“academy”), as well as his or her parents or guardians, must fully understand, must agree and adhere to the Code of Conduct below. Parents and students (including members) are expected to have read the Code of Conduct, and to recognize and acknowledge that its provisions shall be binding on the parents or guardians and student while the student is enrolled or participates in any of our sponsored activities. Please note that we reserve the right to make amendments or additions to this Code of Conduct at any time.

     

    Our mission is to provide everyone with an innovative, unique and scientifically proven approach to achieve a healthy sustainable total well being physically, mentally, and spiritually. We promote cultural awareness and appreciation of the martial arts through world-class instruction beyond the regular curricular requirements, performances, exhibits, exchange, workshops, publications, and productions. We provide education, training, and instruction (conducting classes, seminars, conferences, conventions, exhibitions, workshops and training, education services, instruction services, practical training services) in the philosophy, theory and practice, of wushu (武术), taijiquan (太极拳) and other related martial arts and fitness sports, and integrating the mind, body, medical theory and therapy, fitness and sports science, engineering and technology, in a safe, fun and innovative way.

     

    Our programs in wushu, taijiquan and related martial art training are physically demanding recreational activities, and there is always a risk of injury. It is our policy to minimise this risk, and therefore this code of conduct must be fully understand and strictly adhered to prevent any injury during training.

     

    Conduct and etiquette

     

    (1) Every student (including members) are must at all times practice the academy mottos of (a) benevolence which means kindness and compassion towards others; (b) loyalty which means faithfulness, devotion and passion; (c) respect which means nobility and courteousness; (d) righteousness which means upright, virtuous and knowing and doing what is right; (e) trustworthiness which means honesty, honorable and worthy of confidence.

    (2) Every student (including members) are expected at all times to uphold the Code of Conduct and observance of the highest moral standards at all events and during all traveling and excursions including, but not limited to, academy outings, weekend outings, and performance tours. 

    (3) Every student (including members) is expected at all times to show respect and consideration for the personal and property rights of others and cooperate with members of the academy community.

    (4) Every student (including members) is expected at all times to exhibit helpful, respectful and courteous behavior at all times toward all instructors, coaches, staff, classmates, guests, and visitors.

    (5) Every student including members) must ensure that physical contacts between persons who are training must be appropriate to the situation and necessary for the skill development of those persons.

    (6) very student (including members) is prohibited at all times to exhibit any form of      sexual harassment or uninvited sexually oriented behavior, including public displays of affection.

    (7) Every student (including members) is prohibited at all times to exhibit any stealing or      any acts of malicious, aggressive, intimidation, threat of assault or disruptive behavior.

    (8) Each student/athlete/member is prohibited at all times to show any form of discrimination based on gender, religion, ethnic origin, language, colour, or other form of differentiation.

    (9) Every student (including members) is prohibited at all times to abuse the equipment      clothing, or any part of the training facilities or training area.

    (10) Every student (including members) is prohibited at all times from using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting nature that offends race, religion, colour, descent or national or ethnic origin, or another person, team member or instructor.

    (11) Every student (including members) is expected at all times to be of excellence behavior that will not compromises the good name of the Academy.

    (12) Every student (including members) is expected at all times to be prompt in attendance at training classes, workshops, conferences, and assemblies is required.

    (13) Every student (including members) must wear the approved training dress code and appropriate footwear during all training sessions.

    (14) Every student (including members) are encouraged to be available to perform in sponsored performances because performance opportunities are considered a vital part      of a student's professional development.

     

    Training area etiquette

    (1) Every student (including members) participating in training must agree to maintain self-control at all times and maintain all care in the application of any technique.

    (2) The student (including members) shall not be allowed to continue training if he or she      exhibits behavior that, in the judgment of the instructor, is a danger to other participants.

    (3) Every student (including members) is expected at all times to salute in the appropriate manner upon entering the training area.

    (4) Every student (including members) must be punctual, preferably early, so that they are ready to train when class commences. If arriving late, the students must wait at the side of the training area until the instructor indicates that a he or she may join the class.

    (5) Every student (including members) must take responsibility of their own personal items brought into the training area because the academy can not be held responsible for loss or damage of any personal items.

    (6) The student (including members) must inform the instructor prior to commencement of a training session persons if he or she is suffering from any injury or medical condition, either permanent or temporary, which may be adversely affected by certain types of training. The student (including members) are advised to undergo a medical examination prior to using the facilities and equipment and/or starting in a new and/or amended training or exercise program.

    (7) The student (including members) must know that any alcohol, tobacco, and/or drugs are prohibited in the training premises and during training sessions.

    (8) Any student (including members) with any injury must cease training immediately and receive ppropriate first aid, and rejoining the training session will not be allowed until the instructor has deemed that is safe to do so.

    I have read and agree to the code of conduct listed above. I confirm that the information I have supplied on the application is true and accurate. I understand that any training conducted by the academy requires adherence to the published code of conduct at all times and that failure to do so will result in termination of my training program and all associated privileges.
